Primitivo (also known as Zinfandel) is a powerful red grape variety hailing from Puglia, Southern Italy; but is grown with great success across Australia and California too. The wines it produces are heavy-hitting, complex, high in alcohol, and with the ability to age really well. It’s an awesome wine to pair with BBQ food.
